iPod insurance

I believe that an iPod comes with a 90-day customer service package. I have previously extended the basic package to 2-years for each of the iPods I have purchased in the past. I recently cashed in enough of my PokerStars frequent player points to acquire a new iPod. When it arrives, will it include a 90-day customer service package even though I never purchased the iPod. Will it be eligible for an extended service plan.

I think that yes but the people who will send it to you will need to send it with the box and the receipt.
Here in canada it works this way.

You have the box of the item, the item and all what's included in the box
+
The receipt (with date of purchase, transaction #, employee #)
And your guarantee will be honoured.

I did not purchase it. I got it using Pokerstars frequent player points. When you are at a high enough level (gold level in this case) and have enough points you can tell them to cash in your points for a free iPod. This is what I did. I made no purchase. Am I eligible?
