Well, it does say right in Gmail's TOS, not to use it as an online file storage, but people do it anyway. Rolling Eyes

I tried it, but i didn't like it at all, it's really slow, and i have no patience Very Happy, time is money so i just burn to cd's or dvd's much cheaper. Also if i need to put something online to share, there's no point in putting in gmail b/c u can't really share. I just use something like yousendit.com to send stuff.

I thought there is a file size limit per transfer?

The whole Gmail system is limited to a 10Mb attachment size. So the files you store on the Gmail Servers cannot be bigger than 10Mb.
Google is always trying to avoid the use of their servers as file storage servers, and is always trying to find other ways to block Gmail Drive "usage" from their servers.
