The first and only book that I read Rushdie, and I'm glad I picked it. Large plot and story, that's for sure, but it is part of what makes the book so be it. Kahanee children in India, the country's independence day are born at midnight hour focuses on the life. The special birth date and time the children the main character, Salim, especially the unique strengths, to express. Book follows them through life as his partner Salim midnight interacts with children and their families. It basically all flashback as Salim as he tells the story of his life end nears. Singular events in the novel, the world is self-contained, reliable, and well as attractive. I am not well versed in Indian history, and how much is related to the book if I knew more of the terms can comment. I do not know that the most original books I have read a lot and ended up caring for characters it contained. Extraordinary.
