Do you need a domain for google to find you?

rocket-dan
Or can you use a frihost hosted subdomain and they will find you?
truespeed
Its better to have your own domain, but google will find your subdomain.

Type for example.

site:frih.net into google to see all the subdomains it has listed.

It doesn't matter you have a domain name or subdomain, Google will find you if yo submit it to Google or add a link to another site which is already indexed in Google.

Doesn't matter, but is best for the users if is a .com, .net. etc... domain. (First level)

Free subdomains usually rank relatively lower than domains Sad
Too easy to get one, so searching engines would be more careful about those websites with a subdomain.

How long does it take for Google Webmaster tools to start giving you indexing data for what queries your site is hitting on? I've already submitted the sitemaps and got the bots going....
truespeed
