The Miami Heat acquired LeBron James and Bosh (from Toronto). These two stars will play with returning Dwayne Wade making a triumvirate that will really be something to watch. Do you think Miami will now have a chance for a championship?
Well their squad is quite strong now especially with recent additions to this trio. Now it's the manager's job to make the squad a team. If they can share the ball their chances are quite high for the championship ring.
I think every team in the NBA is gunning for the Heat. They may win, but it won't be easy. I give the Heat 60/40 odds of winning the title this year.
I agree. But I think that it will be the teams in the East that will put the new Miami Heat under the crucible. The Western teams have their interest especially in the following:
The Lakers are of course the defending champions, but Oklahoma is up and coming. The Spurs have acquired a monster in Splitter so I think they are worth watching.
I hope Le Bron retires with no rings...I would be happier to see the Lakers or god forbid the celtics win over the heat
The Lakers have signed in three veteran but relatively unknown players who I think will help them stop superstar-laden teams like Miami:
Ratliff is a great shot-blocker and works the center; Barnes can be a good substitute for Ron Artest; Blake can give Fisher much needed rest any time.
Team chemistry, along with a superstar player or two, is what wins championships in the National Basketball Association. The Los Angeles Lakers team has remained fairly consistent, and has had time to gel as a team. Only time will tell if the Miami Heat players can gel together to be good enough to win a championship or two.
How much of team chemistry would depend on the coach and the captain ball, I wonder?
as much as I hate the Celtics, I'm hoping they'll beat Miami in the Conference finals next season, I see that as very likely, Miami versus Celtics, but the Celtics should have a clear advantage with the O'Neals and Glen Davis, and Kendrick Perkins, whereas Miami only has Bosh as their athletic presence in the paint
You want another Lakers-Celtics showdown? I'd like to see a Lakers-Heat showdown.
I think every team will be gunning for them in the NBA. They will still probably make it to the finals, but the Lakers (as long as Bynum satys healthy) will beat the Heat. Phil Jackson will get his fourth 3-peat and 12th title overall. Kobe will get his 6th and be crowned a God.
A Lakers' 4th-peat won't mean too much seen from an NBA-history where the Celtics of the 50s and 60s had complete domination of the field. But I think that the Lakers have a big chance at it. Three superstars don't make a team although they can pose problems. But hey the Lakers have, apart from their regular five, a backup team that can create problems for other teams, even Miami. Ratliff can pinch hit for Bynum, Barnes can give Artest a spell and Blake can allow Fisher some rest. You can add Shannon Brown to these three plus Odom, and they be a second team that will rival the one of the Celtics in 2008.
LA and Miami won't be in the finals this season. <--- baseless prediction jaja!
That too is a possibility.
Miami already prove that they are very skilled and dengerous team. With every game they are geting better. I think that they shoud focus more on picking up the team leader, and creating proper enviroment around that player.I think that player should be LeBron James, with Wade as his wingman. Every other player shoud be responsible not only for scoring. Just like Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan in the past. I think that Miami will be 2010-2011 NBA Champions.
They look really good now. i hate to say it, but if they are hot again during the playoffs it will be tough for Boston (especially with their injuries) to beat them.
I have no ideia lol.
That's a possibility. But Lebron James and Chris Bosh choke in really important games.
