iPod & Subscription-based services such as Yahoo! Music

Apologies if this has already appeared. Does anyone know if it is possible to modify the Shuffle iPod in order to play downloaded tracks from subscription-based music sites such as Yahoo! Music?

It seems that the hardware and the software are completely out of sync, the usual standards wars (Beta vs. VHS, PC vs. Mac, etc.). Whilst iPod has some 80% share their devices cannot access the most sensible way to pay for music, a flat rate.

I was attracted to the iPod in the early days, bought a G2 and then a Shuffle. However, due to these compatibility issues I am not sure I will be spending any money replacing their batteries when these go flat.

Geeks of this world, look forward to your advice!

Actually i don't think you can without modding the firmware.
And you DON'T want to do that!
