well the xbox 360 will be coming out soon and how many of you guys are going to buy it.

I already own a XBOX. When I can use the XBOX 360 as a media center for streaming MP3's and mpeg4's from my PC. I definetly will buy it.
Is the Xbox 360 going to come out with a keyboard and mouse? I saw the games that are going to come out and I really like the FPS. But I suck at first person shoots with a game contoler. If anyone has a link or a pic of the keyboard or moust that would be great. Thanks for your time.

I'm a little worried about the pricing structure that they've put on it. I mean... is anyone actually going to buy the 'basic' version. Surely it's a bit pointless?
Yeah, it's stupid, but of course that just means everyone will get the 400 dollar one. Only undeducated or extremely cheap people will get the 300 one and later, spend crap loads of money to get the hd and what not.

Ecspecially when it's the Xbox, when almost all it's games are ported to the computer.
I'd make sense to spend money on a Revolution,PSP,or a DS and not have a kick ass computer...but the Xbox really never made any sense to me.
But once in a while for the Xbox a game won't get ported PC side, like Halo2... =/

No im not going for the xbox 360. I wait untill Sony comes up with her Playstation 3. That is because it seems to be better, i always played with playstations and it supports Blu-Ray

It's like the free iPod offer but his one is for getting a xbox 360.
It's 100% free to sign up, you just have to complete one online offer (which will cost you no more than £30).
Then you refer 5-10 friends to do the same, (i think it's 10 for the xbox and 5 for an iPod Nano) and as soon they all complete online offers too, you'll be sent an xbox 360.
One of my colleagues swears by this and has already received about 3 iPods and has already qualified for his xbox 360 so will get it when the xbox 360 is released.

Im interested in the Xbox 360 but not too interested in the price! I've heard a lot of speculation on teh web about the price but any one have any ideas how much its going to cost in the UK?
I beleive the xbox 360 with the 20GB hard disk will cost £270 and without it it'll be £209.

I might eventually buy it, after the price drops. The only game that I'm looking forward to on the XBox 360 is TESIV: Oblivion anyway. I'll probably just spend my money upgrading my computer for now.
I'm definitely going to get the Xbox 360 at some point. I probably won't be one of the people standing outside Toys 'R' Us at midnight the day of the release; I'll probably just get it for Christmas or something. The main reason I'm getting it is Perfect Dark Zero. Ever since the generation of systems after the N64, I've been waiting for a Perfect Dark sequel. I've already seen some videos and it looks freakin' awesome. I just can't wait. Graphics look wonderful and I already have Xbox Live. Freakin awesome... And I forgot to mention that I think there's more functionality on the 360 (like music and stuff, I dunno I heard something awesome about it somewhere...)

yes. I already have an xbox and 50+ games for it, so i see no reason in switching to a ps3, or worse, rev. 
The xbox 360 has everything that you ever need, the ps3 has more processing power, but comes out later and, there is not much need for that much processing. The xbox has enough to keep the games neat, clean and crisp while avoiding system errors and game freezes.
Of course, anouther reason for the xbox 360 is Halo3...

Some people would rather go for the simplicity of having a console that boots up and plays all their games without any mess without fussing about hardware requirements and retarded drivers.
Plus PCs are hardly any use for party use. Owns in online gaming, but it's much funner to have a 4 player split screen FPS/Racing game going on with a couple of friends over. Lanning does the job, but why would you spend your life savings on a couple of computers when you can spend 300 on a console that would do ? Of course your friends could bring their own PC/Laptops .. but that's just geeky.
I played it, and it's not as great as they make it look on TV. I have a feeling PS3 will be much better (and I'm not saying as an opinion, I mean hardware/graphics). See this.

I think the 360 is cool-looking, but it's too expensive and it's not fun. I don't like Xbox at all, not really. Bill Gates just want more money, that greedy person! 
My Wal-Mart has a Xbox 360 set up that you can play! I'm not sure the exact title of the game that is set up, but it had King Kong fighting a T-rex. Graphics were awesome!

I am not sure which one I want more. On one hand the XBOX 360 is coming out sooner and will have Halo 3 but PS3 has the ability to output to 2 screens simultaneously. Instant LAN Party with only one system! That to me seems a little better idea than still forcing multiple system purchases.
The PS3 might not be able to play used or rented games. Who knows, mabye it will...I hope Sony doesn't do that.

I played the 360 at gamespot, and it was really sweet. The controllers are awesome and ergonomic, the games (Battlefield 2 and King Kong) seemed well designed, and the graphics are better than most videogames I have seen. The same controllers are also being made for PC, which probably means the games will be too. My computer is allready powerful enough to run new games top quality (and cost me quite a few dollars), so hopefully I'll be playing some 360 games on my pc. Anybody have any word about this?

My answer. Yes I'm definitely going to buy it. The catch...not for a while because its simply just too expensive for me at the moment and I have other things I need to buy before that, but after a couple of months (hopefully when the price drops) I should be able to afford. I'm really quite upset about having to wait too because one of my favorite games is on Xbox 360....Project Gotham Racing 3...I've owned and beaten the other two and just love them soo much.

I'm over on Camp Humphrey's in South Korea. I just bought a X Box 4 days ago. They only had one game available when since the release of the 360, NFL 2006. The 360 over heats. There is a recall in progress to repair the problem. BECARFEUL WHEN YOU BUY YOURS!!!

SOME 360s have been reported to be overheating; let's be clear on this. Look folks, all sorts of systems/products have bugs at launch. Do I NEED to point out the issues with the DS and PSP?? I'm not saying it's a good thing, but hey, I rarely if ever buy a product like this at launch, especially at a $400 price point.

I don't know where you may be getting your PC hardware from, but I don't know of ANY "killer" PC to cost less than $1000. Can you get a relatively DECENT PC for the same price as a 360? Sure, but you'd likely have a crap video card and probably under 512mb of RAM. Look, Microsoft (and just about every OTHER console maker) takes a LOSS on their system hardware.

the 360 is a rip off. 400 bucks and all you get is an upgraded version of the regular xbox. I've played it, it feels EXACTLY the same as the first xbox. It's graphics aren't as good as say, a computer (well mine anyways, geforce 7800GTX), and the playstation 3 graphics are WAAYY better, just looking at the demos at e3. Plus, 360 is actually loosing money on each box they sell. The cost to MAKE the 360 is more than 400, which is a serious problem, and therefore the price won't be going down anytime soon.
What I'm really waiting for is the nintendo revolution, with its AWSOME new controller and ability to download games from all the other previous systems. Have you guys checked out the new controller? Not just the looks, but what it does?

Uhhh EVERY manufacturer loses money on their consoles. Consoles are a loss leader for GAME revenue (and add-ons.) Also, those PS3 graphics you are touting are mockups or hires-cutscenes. No one has actually SEEN a PS3 game in action yet (except for maybe developers.) Also, the PS3 will most likely cost MORE than the 360 (in fact SONY has been saying this since E3, that it will cost in the neighborhood of $450-500!)
Look guys, it's OK to prefer one system or company over another, but other than the 360, none of us has seen what the other systems can DO yet. So instead of spreading spurious rumours and out-and-out misinformation, why doesn't everyone just WAIT and see what system is better?

The stock of xbox360 has run out in UK because of limited supplies. Im sure Microsoft can supply some more before xmas but wont for publicity. My friend was one of the lucky few that has preordered his xbox360 and got one.
MY Review:
Xbox360 console is much slimmer compared to normal xbox. Looks great. I love the wireless controllers, feels comfortable and has a good rubber quality feel to it. You turn the console on or off from the controller, so can be in bed playing a game and when you feel tired turnoff the machine with your controller.
I had played the following games on the console:
Project Gotham Racing 3
Call Of Duty 2
Perfect Dark Zero
Kameo: Elements Of Power
The best game is Perfect Dark Zero, the graphic is really good and gameplay (1st person shooter).
Nothing special about the rest of the games, I’m sure the normal xbox is capable enough to handle the same graphics.
Overall: I was not really impressed with the machine, it did not wow me, i could not see much difference between the graphic qualities of the xbox compared with xbox360.

In fact, even if their consoles cost less, they generally RETAIL for less also, so I'd wager they're still taking something of a loss.

it looks nice, i played it alot at fry's electronics. however i hear that there are many problems with 10,000 units, so im not sure. maybe the ps3 will be better. i think the evolution will be hot though! lots of peolpe are going to buy the evolution because it's going to be innovative.

Uhhh do you have anything that backs that up? And I would imagine even IF the PS2 would now have some sort of profit margin, it would be so narrow as to be neglible. As I said, game systems aren't made to make money in and of themselves, they're designed as a loss-leader to sell highly marked up accessories and games.

Thanks. Actually I had heard the same thing from other people, it's just that I couldn't really find any articles saying one or the other.
I'm not trying to bash any consoles here (which is sadly more than I can say for quite a few people in this thread.) It generally tends to be whichever system has the best exclusive games/franchises that ends up on top, which is a sad thing, quite frankly, because I think with better support and a concerted effort (especially on the Japanese side,) the XBox could've been a real contender, instead of playing a poor second-fiddle to the PS2. So that being said, I will really reserve judgement until ALL the consoles are out (as should everyone.)
Very expensive... I prefer to play games freeware in PC and to spend money for having fun with my girlfriend..!

I wouldn't buy it. If someone gave it to me, sure I'd play it, but I wouldn't pay money for it. I'm not much for consoles anymore. I seem to require a mouse and a keyboard for even the simplest of games.
I know afew people that have been having trouble with their 360s, which is funny considering that they can just call J Allard and tell him so. For the most part they've had the good taste not to, but if the problems continue it is likely that he will be recieveing some pretty nasty calls.
The original XBOX launch was fraught with the worst defects of any system in history. Some units didn't turn on because they were MISSING PARTS! Not little things, like removeable casing faces or silly stuff like that, but big things like power supplies or processors. Microsoft is famous fo their Xbox launch troubles, they were a laughing stock the first time, and it looks like this launch will be no different. Even crappy DVD players made in third world sweatshops don't SCRATCH DVDs, yet the XBOX 360 does! That's crazy. As far as I know, all the systems have started up, though one guy has had the problem where the system shuts down, but that turned out to be a problem with one of his controllers; it kept sending the turn off message.
From what I've seen, the system is not worth the headaches, much less the money. I'd reccommend holding off until they pull out some games that are actually worth the price.

While I agree with your last assertation about waiting for better titles, I'm not sure that the original XBox launch had the WORST defects of any system. People sure do seem to have a really short term memory for this stuff. The PS2 had all kinds of launch defects (from the drive not playing discs to numerous disc errors.) I'm not saying that either XBox launch is free from defects, but most systems have some sort of issues, especially systems that were rushed to release. Also, another important thing to note is that PS2s had issues that didn't appear at launch, but rather closer to a year later. Sure launch defects suck, but those defects that cause your system to quit a year from now (when you have a huge library of games) are quite possibly worse.
Also, just as a quick aside to people who are complaining about the lack of titles for the 360, bear in mind this is by NO means the worst number of launch titles for a system:
XBox 360: 18 titles (average review score - 78.4%)
XBox: 19 titles (74.2%)
Gamecube: 12 titles (78.8%)
Dreamcast: 19 titles (73.8%)
PS2: 32 titles (72.0%)

I think it's ironic that while the PS2 had the MOST launch titles, the average score of those titles was lower (although that could be attributed to a few really crappy games.)
Anyway, as I've BEEN saying, how about we start slinging FACTS around here, rather than half-truths and blatantly unfounded rumours.
The Xbox 360 is huge. Everyone knows this. Also, its powersource is huge too. I also have seen a list of the five electronics that made the most noise, two were laptops, one was the first generation PS3, the Xbox 360 was on the list and the Xbox 360's power source was also on the list. All of the games that are released on it are not really origional or specific to the 360. Ill just save my money and shelf space for the Revolution.
ya xBox 360 is very big and loud not soo good for bringing it to friends house to play!! I heard that the nintendo revolution is going to be as cheap as 99$ for the actaul console.. can anyone confirm this?

I pre-ordered one through GameStop. I'll never pre-order through them or Electronics Boutique (same company) again. They couldn't fill there pre-orders yet magically their GameStop.com site sold bundled packages (crammed full of the stuff no one wants but will take if its the only way to get one).
That being said, yes the DVD drive is REALLY loud. The graphics are better then the original and I haven't got my HDTV yet. They say if your not playing it on the 780p your not seeing it yet. (Compare to the store displays I do notice a difference)
Controllers are excellent, I thought I'd miss the "duke" controller. They thankfully dumped the black white buttons for a more play station feel (top of the controllers) So far, fingers crossed, no issues. I do have it laying down and Well ventilated. Hoping that helps out!

Plus, I beat the PS3 will have major errors, like ever Sony console, and the Rev will have few, like every Nintendo console.
Also, about the review thing, doesn't mean anything. All a matter of opinion, people rate FFX and Halo high, and I hate them.

Nope, but hardware WILL make the game LOOK better.
Also, on the 360 news front, I just thought I'd drop this little tidbit I came across. Japanese publisher AQ Interactive announced three titles for the 360: Vampire's Rain (also for the PS3,) Bullet Witch and Cry On (which MistWalker's Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu will have a hand in.) I think this bodes well for the 360 in Japan, in as much as it seems a LOT more developers are interested in the console this time around.

I was planning on getting the xbox360 until some of my friends told me about how it aint so good. Im thinking i might want to get the ps3 instead of the xbox360.
Im definitely going to buy one. While they are expensive they will drop in price when the ps3 comes out. The PS3 and Xbox 360m are actually equally good consoles(though I hate to say it) but you could say that one looked better on paper but then you would be wrong because they go about being good in different ways. The games im most looking forward to are tes:oblivion and halo 3 which will not be released for PS3 for a long time. Also there are some rumours that microsoft were negotiating for exclusive rights for gta 6. This doesn't suprise me seeing as they already have bought out rare from nintendo.
i like games for pc too, but still i would want an xbox360. Computers wernt made for games, unlike consoles. games on the computer have to be saved on, taking up space and making your systym run slower. i occasionaly get games on the computer, but im still getting an xbox.

This is because the graphics chip is supposed to be better than the Xbox 360 chip. Sony is waiting on a chip from NVIDIA which will be better than the 360 chip. There have also been problems reported about the Xbox 360 freezing during gameplay. I think this is because Microsoft had rushed to release their product in time for the holidays. Sony is taking their time to make sure all of the bugs are fixed and to get a better graphics chip which will enable more capabilities on the PS3. But I guess we'll have to wait for the release in a few months.
i dunno whether the xbox is worth buyin coz the ps3's specs are AMAZING!!! but the xbox has xbox live and will definatly always be cheaper than the ps3.

You said that you can't play old xbox games on the xbox360. Infact you're wrong. There is a whole list of original xbox games that you can play on xbox360.
Also for games that arn't on the list you can download rom xbox live (free silver account).
Plus xbox has capabilities to connect to microsoft operating systems that no other console can have.

OMG! Call of duty 2 for Xbox 360 is so damn fun... tried it at GAME, ooooh, wish i hade more money : ( The xbox 360 controller is the best ever made, and the design is just beutiful. i wish one of my friends buy a 360 so i can play there : P
Console and PC gamers have long been divided into two camps. Sure, there are those of us who play on multiple platforms, but hard-core PC gamers tend to be, well, hard-core PC gamers and eschew "mainstream" console games, while committed console gamers can sometimes be heard bashing PC gamers as elitist nerds. While there's nothing wrong with drawing your own distinction, what's clear--at least for the moment, anyway--is that Microsoft's Xbox 360 makes the line between PC and console gaming a lot fuzzier. Yes, this is a console, with game controllers and A/V cables that are designed to interface with your TV--preferably of the HD variety--but Microsoft has essentially packed a high-end PC gaming rig into a relatively small box that fits into any A/V rack or cabinet. That the Xbox 360 also has a user interface that rivals TiVo's in terms of slick presentation and ease of use, plus a host of digital media and networking features, helps elevate the already-good Xbox experience to a whole new level. Naturally, the 360 is not without its flaws, and since many of the launch titles are simply rehashes of their PC or console counterparts, we'll have to wait another year or so before we get to see what game developers can truly accomplish. By then, Sony should be ready to counter with its next-gen powerhouse, the PlayStation 3. Whether it will be better is anybody's guess. Here in New Zealand we dont get 360 until march 2006 so i think i will wait to see what ps3 will be like and then choose

I bought one on eBay for 500. Well 450 and 50 shipping, but still...Anyway I am an impatient person when it comes to video games, so I had to have one. I WILL wait on PS3, because the PS2 and PSP had a lot of faulty hardware when they were released. If it is released, and no problems then I will pick it up, otherwise I will wait until some bugs have been worked out. On a side note I will get the Revolution on day one .
.I say get a computer, 10 times more useful, 1000 times the number of games, and monitors are better than most peoples TVs, the controllers of any platform can't hope to complete with the control of a mouse, keyboard, and full size joy-stick. If you still want a TV system, get the PlayStation 3, Nvidia graphics are tons better than the XBox ATi System

I actually own an xbox 360 apparently one I got it no one else in my country had one(costa rica) still its best thing ever, specially call of duty my least favorite game is pgr3 even thoe i loved pgr2, well thats that.

Perhaps cause the hardware is leaps beyond the original xbox. The controller is pretty good too. It supports HD.
I got a 360 and Iam very happy with it but Im still gonna go buy the PS3.

still the 360 is great 'cause the graphics are amazing and the games are better.. also the media center options are funny.. that you can connect it with your pc and things like that are really interesting.. but still it's a lot of money
I have one, but I miss my xbox. (Modded can do so many awesome things) *sigh* Anyways, the 360 has amazing graphics, and when we got an HDTV last month it looks 10x better. I love it, and can't wait for Halo 3 to come
Ive purchased an xbox 360. But there not all what there hyped up to be. Project gothem 3, may be heading to be one of the best racing games ever. But the graphics arnt as good as what they are meant to be, it doesnt really look much better than project gothem 2 on the xbox.
People are saying that the PS3 is the way to go, but we will still have to wait to see if its going to be true.

i think its a bit too expensive..... and for the graphix you need a hdtv
XBOX 360 RULES! I am a huge xbox fan. I got mine a little late, around christmas, but it's still amazing non the less. Even on my little tv, the graphics are simply amazing. I compaired Halo 2 on the old xbox, and on 360, and all I have to say is DAMN. Plus all the little tiny features makes it all worth while. In my opinion, it's the best consol ever, and I can't wait to see what they cook up next!
I'm the with the other guys. Why spend money on a XBox 360 when I got a sweet Gaming Rig PC. I got a bigHD TV with 900Watt 5.1 system, and on the weekends I hook my computer up with DVI and holy sweetness it is beautiful. I had Call of Duty 2 longer and It is ten times better than the Xbox just because I have a mouse, WOW. FPS don't work off the PC, once you play counter-Strike you just can't go back. If you just want to play, and don't mind giving up real fps gamin, than the Xbox is a okay deal.

I ve had a very high expectation on xbox 360 before it was released. Now i m kinda disappointed on the image quality. I prefer Pc games and it has better graphics on my pc than xbox 360.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
It's awesome, the world is HUGE! I played around 100 hours and the main quest isn't finished yet.
There's many guild you can join:
Arena - fight à la Gladiator
Thief - well, it's obvious
Dark Brotherhood - You have to kill an innocent person to join them
Mage - You'll be able to access the most powerful spells
Fighters - Pretty boring, IMO

If you're looking for Japanese RPGs... you have Enchanted Arms. That's all that's confirmed right now for America. Blue Dragon and whatever the other Sakaguchi game is probably won't be out for a long time. He's enjoying throwing around Microsoft's money.

1. Fair enough. You're allowed to make claims. So I'm gonna ask you to back it up. First, explain the 360 processor architecture. Second, explain the PS3 processor architecture and show how they're nearly exactly the same in every way. Second, do it with their respective ATI and Nvidia cards. By the way, the PS3 graphics card had less shader power than the 360's card if you think I'm biased with Sony on my side.
2. I'll agree as far as that this is the worst playstation controller ever. It has loss of rumble and I could care less about the tilting sensors. However, *I* and lots of others feel like it's one of the best controllers layout wise. The new 360 controller is much improved. I only have one gripe with it, and that's the dpad. It has the exact same problem that the first xbox had. It's a friggin' circle. You push forward on it, you jump in a 2d game.
3. They both have 512 megs of total ram.
4. Yeah, and Sony and Nintendo have their own online services. What's your point? The fact is you'll be playing with annoying bratty kids on all three. What's the difference between playing on a Sony or Microsoft network? You'll be able to play with your friends and have all that other random crap like friend lists and what not. Furthermore, it's been stated over and over though not completely officially confirmed that the PS3 will have free online gaming. That's certainly more enticing than paying for xbox live.

There's sometihng wrong with the feedback system, it never goes below 3 stars, It just goes up. Anyway, I'm going to get the Webcam for the 360, and they sorted out the problem about having your thing as your gamer picture, which is cool, too bad it comes out in september, or something..

You might not want to be posting your link here. If you read the freepay TOS, if you spam your url ref on forums you'll get put on hold. They'll know where your refs click on the link because it'll show up as the referrer.

I'd say people would either suggest fight night 3 or oblivion at this moment.
Yes, definitely get Oblivion. It has already provided me with over 100 hrs of gameplay! Also, I would get Perfect Dark Zero if you would like an okay shooter. It's not the best, but it can give you some fun for a little bit, depending if you like it or not. Also, Call of Duty 2 is an excellent game, and I highly recommend it. If you liked the original, it's just as good. However, I haven't fancied the multiplayer as much...

I got my 360 on 2.december 2005. Which was the release date in norway. U think it's great. Lovely graphics, excelent controllers, über-good games and an kickass online syste, (xbox live).
I already have perfect dark zero, project gotham racing 3, GRAW and battlefield 2 modern combat. Next week im getting fifa world cup 2006.
360 is really a great buy, espessialy since ps3 and 360 are almost just as powerful, and ps3 will kill your wallet.

Depends on what good graphics are to you... Yeah it looks good. It doesn't look anything near MGS4, Gears of War, or Final Fantasy XIII (which I believe are the 3 best looking games in terms of console that we've seen so far). It certainly isn't ugly... but I wouldn't say it's a graphically impressive game.
