How to enable anonymous access in Sharepoint

menino
I am using Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0, and want to know how to enable anonymous access, so that it doesnt ask me for login credentials, everytime I browse the sharepoint site.
once I log in, I get to see the site, but would like to know how to browse the site, without having to login everytime.

If I need to make changes, then there should be a login link.

Any ideas will be helpful.

Are you sure you want to forego all your security for a small amount of convenience? Disabling the login, if possible, sounds like a very dumb thing to do.

Its not foregoing a small security for a small inconvenience.

I believe that security in sharepoint is robust, yet granular, and to my experience quite tricky.

But if anyone has any experience with this, would be great if you'll could help.

Regarding the anonymous access for sharepoint, it is so that anyone can see the site, but only administrators logged in, will be able to make changes to the site.
Hopefully, this additional info might be of use?
