I know some people are too much internet addicted. I am a little addicted too. Do you think it is bad or is it good because you can find anything on the internet and that you can learn many things on the internet?

Laughing I think it's bad because I've been too lazy to go find a job. Dad, doesn't help when he spoils me rotten either.

it is good for many readons, but it is bad when it starts preventing you from your routine work or domestic life.

Addicted? No. Dependant? Probably.

It's not so much of an addiction, it's more of a way of life. I'm generation Y, everything needs to be instant or very quick, whether that be text messages or travelling point A to point B. Internet is one of those things that provides quick access to information.

What I'm saying is, my generation revolves around the internet. It's not an addiction, it's a lifestyle.

I agree that it's more of a lifestyle. You only become addicted to certain websites, not the internet itself. However, it still feels kinda sad when you haven't accessed the internet the whole day.

Same here. However, it does help very much with my work life.

It really helps because if you need to somebody to ask and no body is there with you, you can just light up the button of your cpu and browse the internet. enter you question that has been in you mind and most probably you can get an answer.

I'm getting sick every time i don't have a chance to seat in front of a computer or to surf on the internet.. LOL... I don't know why, maybe i just feel the happiness that i don't feel outside of the world.. the excitement etc.. name it.. Very Happy Very Happy

For me it is a mixture of many things. All of which have already been mentioned and maybe escapism as well. I'm also learning from others.

Yes I am addicted.
At first it was the games and social networking and the erm...'adult materials'

Now its about information and learning. The internet has now become my fav learning tool EVER!
I have been studying psychology and photography mostly. There is no greater pleasure than for ME to be able to stay at home in the safety of my room and learn and explore the world.

While I am also addicted to Cafe World and Farm Town on facebook, I try to 'balance' my addictions. Twisted Evil

My job is on Internet, my relax is on Internet (poker), my learning is on Internet. Am I adicted? I don't think soo. Internet is my way of living and I cannot change it. Rolling Eyes

I can quit any time Anxious

I'm addicted to information, I think. I spend some time I can reading news and articles on various subjects. My job doesn't allow me to have Internet access from my office, but at home I have an hour or so per day to have Internet access.
I'm not sure I can be considered an addict, it's like saying that I don't have time for smoking.

I think Internet addiction is ok until it doesnot harms your daily life and daily routine.
jmlworld
I cannot say I am addicted, but I use the internet for day to day tasks. I work with small team based on the Internet (yes, one in Australia, two in UK and me deep in southern Africa).

Internet is addictive these days, but everybody needs time to maintain his/her domestic life.

I'm pretty addicted....I often have to tear myself away from the PC in order to get any homework done haha. There is just soooo much to do on the internet (forums, writing and reading blogs, mmorpg gaming, readings news, etc.) time just flieeeees!

I still have a real life though, but whenever I'm home and am not cleaning or anything I am usually online ha
Greatking
i would say i am moderately addicted to the internet because i only go to the net when i really need to check on my mail or send an email, do some research work for my work or assignment or facebook to chat a little and post a few words and check out friends pictures etc. apart from these needs i dont usually go to the net. i know some people who are always on the net 24/7 and i wonder what htey get out of it.

I think it's more on relying than addicting. We are part of the cyberworld and we use internet through various functions. Others use it for games, social networking, even porn. I also use internet as an escape to reality but the main function of internet for me is for reference.

im addicted, infact sometimes i dont get out of my computer room fordays, only for nature calls.

My job involves working on the internet now, but before I was an internet addict.. I needed to be on the internet, even though it was slow dialup.
NOw with facebook, google, and other popular sites, everyone needs internet.

Internet is a necessity though, and doesnt have to have an addiction for it.
Its just a tool to get information.

Too much information can ruin you. Laughing

I'm curious, how is The internet a necessity? The human race was able to survive for thousands of years without it, and they did a better job at living a good life than we do now.

This is just dumbfounding to me, but i can see your point that in today's society many people see it as a necessity so my question is really, why do you see it as a necessity?

Ah, just realized this may make it a hijack so i made a thread here specifically for this question Razz
camperkid
100 % uncompromisingly addicted. Without the internet I feel empty inside, and I'm forced to do work and other stuff that will actually pay off.
BlueDeath
Yes, I'm addicted. I'm 24/7 in the computer..
