All of us are grown ups now but we sometimes find moments in life when we want to escape...comics can act as one of the ways of escaping!!
Calvin and Hobbes is one of my favourite comics ,i can easily pass my leisure with....
I remember especially this part
Quote:
"Another night deprivedof slumber,
Hours passing without number.
My eyes trace 'round the room.
I lay dripping sweat and now quite certain
That tonight the final curtain
Drops upon my short life's precious play.
From the darkness, by the closet
comes a noise, much like a faucet
Makes: a madd'ning drip-drip dripping sound.
It seems some ill-proportioned beast,
Anticipating me deceased,
Is drooling poison puddles on the ground.
A can of Mace,a forty-five,
Is all I'd need to stay alive,
But no weapon lies within sight.
it still describes nightmares so well....

I like Calvin and Hobbes too (if you couldn't already tell Razz )
One of the best comic strips of all time.
That, by the way, is the poem "A Nauseous Nocturne" from the book "The Essential Calvin and Hobbes".

Quite appropriate when I clicked on this thread, mOrpheuS's signature came up with the following Calvin wisdom:
Quote:
I think nighttime is dark so you can imagine your fears with less distraction.

Yeah. Love the occasional philosophical strip of Calvin and Hobbes, as well as the various moments of genuine humour and witty banter.

That, and there's just a great dynamic between the characters!
