I have a windows vista with Internet Explorer 8. I didn't know when it ended up not showing any .gif picture. It implies that when I'm going to forward an e-mail in gmail which has .gif pictures, I lost them in the forwarded mail.
The solution I've implemented is using mozilla when I need to see or forward those pictures, but I would appreciate anyone telling me which option should I activate/desactivate to see .gif into explorer 8.
Show pictures is checked. I can see .jpg and other kind of images, I only have this issue with .gif images.
Any other idea?
I had this same issue back when I was using Vista on an old laptop of mine.
The IE8 browser on Vista I believe is actually different from the W7 and XP version of IE8, so it was quite difficult to figure out the problem.
I actually never did find the problem. I couldn't even get a fresh install of IE8 on Vista because I couldn't find a download spot for it. They only offered an XP version, which wasn't compatible.
I eventually gave up and started using FireFox.
When I reformatted my PC eventually due to a memory issue, the IE8 .gif problem was fixed.
However I don't think reformatting your entire computer just because IE8 doesn't display .gif's is worth it. I'd recommend to just switch to FireFox or Chrome.
Sorry I couldn't be more help... But the only way I know of fixing it is to reformat.
See if you have the same problem with FireFox or Opera... Ie is always crap imo.
may be your internet explore affected by virus.. u can try to reinstall and try
