Quick question about submitting a subdomain

william
Alright, I have a hypothetical question. Let's say you have a website that uses a subdomain (sitename.host.com) and you go forth and submit it to both directories and search engines. But then, say a few months down the line, you upgrade to a top level domain. Basically, what I'm wondering is, what's going to happen to all the submissions you made? I mean, I know you can keep the subdomain and have it merely redirect to your new domain, but how hard is it to get the new domain to the same listing positions as the old subdomain?

Thanks

PS. Blah, it looks like I didn't word this to well. Razz Hopefully you guys get what I mean.
