hi im trying to get a site up on a sub-domain and i have a template from web wiz. im not sure what way it works i did web design before but ive never actually uploaded a site onto the net.

Im probably going about all this the wrong way im not entirely sure.
do i need a dns address or something. I got a bit lost in another host site
any nhelp or guidance would be much appreciated.

You will get a subdomain like something.frihost.net as your website.

yes i know that but do i need to upload it onto the server ?

You will have to upload something yes. There is a file manager in cpanel to do it for you if you don't want to install an ftp program.

You will need to create a page called index.html (just a text file) and place it in your public_html directory.

some sites have a file manager app, where you browse to each file you want to upload one by one, or 5 at a time.

Frihost, like other good hosting sites, gives you ftp access to your account, so if you use an ftp client like winftp or similar software, you will see a folder not unlike your explorer windows to drop and drag your files in.

firefox offers an excellent free ftp client called fireftp.
