Best way to sharpen images in Photoshop

tingkagol
We all know using the basic sharpen filter for Photoshop doesn't really produce the best results, so I've been on the hunt for the best sharpening technique in Photoshop since I started editing pictures, in hopes of improving my novice technique (and hopefully help others who are also novices in the process). I've stumbled upon really super sharp images on the web (without graining), and it only tells me that there must be a better way to sharpen images.

So far I only know these techniques: (1) high pass sharpening, (2) unsharp mask, (3) smart sharp. http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/photoshop/articles/phscs2at_advsharpen.html
I've also heard of people combining those techniques- mostly unsharp mask & smart sharp.

Now, which of them do you frequently use?
Do you know of any other technique? Please do tell.

I've used the ones you've listed there, but I usually use smart sharpen the most. It's fast and easy to do.
