Problems with File Ownership

Arty
When I try to delete a file, it says Permission Denied. Deleting from cPanel doesn't work either.

I think this is because:
1. I tried to install a wordpress, phpbb, or SMF skin by uploading a ZIP file to my website.
2. I installed a plugin (avatars) on bbPress.

Anyway, there are alot of files on my website that I can't delete and I want to be able to get rid of them.

First off are you using an FTP client?

Secondly,

Go to your CPanel and find the file/folder that you want deleted and check it off. (This may be different because I have Direct Admin.) and there should be a setting "Reset Owner" locate that and click it and then try to delete the file.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I'm using an FTP client.

If I try to delete in cpanel, it doesn't work - nothing happens. I said this in the original post.
It's because there are problems with the file ownership or something.

Did you try to reset the owner of the file?

Are you using cPanel on server 1 or Directadmin on Server(s) 2/3? cPanel I believe should be able to simply delete the file, as it doesnt use FTP to browse the filesystem... Which is odd, if you are still unable to delete the file.

Is there an error message that you get when you try to delete the file/folder? If so please post it.
