Hi everyone,
I'm not sure what the standards are in other countries but in Australia palm oil can be (and usually is) labelled on all food products as Vegetable Oil. If you don't know about palm oil manufacturing it is definetely something that you should look into.
Essentially large scale deforestation in areas such as Indonesia and Papua New Guinea is occuring so that palm trees can be planted for palm oil production. This is greatly affecting wild populations of Orangutans, Tigers, Elephants and many many other animals. In Sumatra alone an area larger than the American state of Maryland (over 40,000 square Km) will be deforested over the next 20 years.
What I can't get over is the fact that they are removing one the most fertile biomes in existence to harvest a product that has been directly linked with heart disease. If you want to help, it can be as simple as opening a new tab/window and clicking to sign a petition, please do. The following are some links you can take to help fight the good fight.

Well there are definetely more that are out there if your interested. But mainly pay attention when you shop, it doesn't take long to read the ingredients but it does take a while to regrow a rainforest.
