How to make your Desktop Icons Transparent

cscorpian
Hi

I Will show you, How to make your Desktop Icons Transparent:

Go to Control Panel > System, > Advanced > Performance area > Settings button Visual Effects tab

"Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"
fladry
"Go to Control Panel > System, > Advanced" that's all right till there. You can go there through a shortcut. Just select properties of my computer and select advanced tab.
But there is no "Performance area" in my computer. Which Windows are you using?

What he actually means by Performance area is that you can see three "areas" Performance, user profiles, startup and recovery under that, right? Click settings in the performance region.

I have that ticked, and did not have my icons transparent. Curious, I unticked it. What I got was hideous blue rectangles under each icon name on the desktop. So what 'transparent' actually means the names of the icons.
