Link back to page where I came From

Hi

I want to link to a series of pages that all have the same picture on them. The user can arrive at these series of pages from many different pages. When they want to return back to the first link that got them to these series of pages I want them to be able to click this pic.

How can I give this page that link.

I hope I have explained my self..

I'm on holiday atm so don't have any example with me handy....

To link back to "previous page(s)", you need to know "what is the previous page"?
- is it javascript:back(1)?
- is it $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']?
- or is it something customized???

$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'], you mean.

I presently use javascript:back

However the user may visit several pages before they need to return to the main page that they came from and this method only takes you back one step at a time. Not really user frindlyin this case..

Actually, if you change the 1 it will go back as many times as you'd like. Unfourtantely, in your case there wouldn't be a way knowing when the last page is the page you want to go "back" to, if you get my point.

Yes..

I need to somehow embed a link back to the page in my web site that got me to the forum page in the Link (in the Forum) to get me back to my site

Hope I have explained this..

This will be very useful. It will allow users to do research and post to the forum aned then return back to the same page they left in my site..

There's your solution.

Only problem: if someone links to the page from their website (or not fill the variable). So you have to check if the first part of the url matches the current first part of the url.
