Multivariable Calculus and Vector Calculus

Hi,

I need to learn Multivariable Calculus and Vector Calculus ... and fast! But I am not very good with vector fields and stuff.

So, which web site would you recommend to learn from ?

I'm looking for the most basic explanations you can find.

Well... Good luck learning it fast. It takes most people a semester to learn... but if you're looking for a sight that will help you, then I would suggest wikipedia. I looked over the stuff on vector calculus on wikipedia and it all seems to be correct.

From this link, you have links to all of the important aspects of vector calculus. Start off by learning about the dot product and then cross product. From there, you can move on to the rest of the page.

And also, are there any Multivariable concepts I must be familiar with before starting to learn Vector Calculus? In other words, is it necessary to know a lot of Multivariable Calculus before learning Vector Calculus?

Well they're very similar, to be honest. Vector calculus is pretty much an application of the broader subject, multivariable calculus. But, I would learn how to calculate limits in several variables, as well as derivatives and multiple integration. All of those are pretty easy. Limits are a little harder to calculate, but derivatives are just as easy because all you're doing, essentially, is calculating the change among one axis which means you treat one variable as a variable and the rest as constants...
