Hide Hard disk partition with Diskpart ( Windows Dos Utility)

Go to Run > Diskpart

A DOS window will appear with following discription.

DISKPART>

2. Then Enter Command "List volume".

3. Suppose, you want to hide drive D then type "select volume 2"

Then a message will appear in same windows { Volume 2 is the selected volume}

4. Now enter command "remove letter D"

Now a message will come { Diskpart Removed the Drive letter }
sometime it requires the reboot the computer .

Diskpart will remove the letter .Windows XP is not having capabilty to identify the unkown volume.

To access the content of hidden Drive repeat the process mentioned above. But in 4th step replace " remove" to "assign"
It means type "assign letter D"

err.. instead of going through such a complicated procedure in Windows xp, you can just go to control panel --> Administrative Tools --> Computer Management --> Disk Management

Right click the drive you want to hide and click on "Change drive letter" and when dialog box appears select no letter.
Reboot your computer and voila! your that partition is hidden!

...and then you login using a linux distribution, easily mount the hidden partition without any extra tools and wreck havoc deleting dads porn.

Duplicate of this thread, I believe. Another way of doing the same thing. Just as pointless no matter which way you do it.

hey, windows 2000 and later have to identify unlabeled volumes with mount point (junction point).
With the computer management tool, it can assigns a folder as entry point that pointing to the volume much like the linux one.

But this feature should be much more stable on windows xp SP2 and later and windows server 2003 SP1 and later as I worked on it over 10 months and all fine.
