Would version 2.0.9 be a newer version than 2.0.17? I want to know cause if it is, I want to upgrade to that version.

nope, I believe 2.0.17 is the latest
2.0.9 must be newer, becuase it's techically "2.0.90" where 2.0.17 is still is "2.0.17", would it not? I don't know. I'll leave it for now.
(edit)I figured it out. 2.0.17 is latest because there's no reference to the last 0, but I did find a 2.0.10 version.

its all the same, besides phpbb 3 is coming out real soon so no need to get worried about it.

Yes, I figured that out myself when I noticed the 2.0.10 version on phpbbhacks.com.
Versions can get confusing after the second period.if the versions were 2.0.9.0 and 2.0.1.7, then the first would be newest. But since there's no dot, between the 1 and 7, it's the oldest version.
