Cinematography

Cinematography is arguably the most physically and mentally demanding departments when it comes to filmmaking. It is an art and a science put together, and when done in a creative way, it can make a film look visually stunning despite what graphics or special effects are laid down.

My question is this:
Which film do you think has great cinematography, and who is your favorite cinematographer?

If you want to see great cinematography, then this movie -
The Fall: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460791/
would win hands down! Great visuals, simply stunning.
The guy who made the movie is a cinematographer himself, not a very good director, and the story/plot of the movie sucks! But a very good movie visually, simply awesome cinematography.
I know you'd get bored watching the movie, but most people stay on just for the breathtaking visuals.

Ironically though, IMDB lists the film's cinematographer as someone else, guy named Colin Watkinson. Just checked his credits, and he doesn't seem to have done much work, even less in cinematography. So I have reason to believe most of the cinematography work in the movie was done by the director Tarsem Singh himself.

Other than that, I also liked the cinematography in The Godfather and The Shawshank Redemption.

Thanks for the suggestion! I had heard of The Fall before, but I've never had the opportunity to watch it. From the several photos that I've seen, the film does look stunning. The characters and various figures in the film look like something out of a Dali painting.

I think the films Pan's Labyrinth (photographed by Guillermo Navarro) and The Aviator (photographed by Robert Richardson) are my top favorite films in terms of cinematography thus far. I'll definitely have to check out The Fall though.
