Question About RaC Mod

vamp
Hello, I have been trying for along while to get a good working mod for my Forums bot prevention type mod, and I finally found one that Everyone I asked about, recomended called RAC mod, only I have an issue installing this mod, was wandering if someone else would be able to either give it a go Or help me here, I would go to the official php website only, I am using php2 and they no longer support php2 not even questions, I asked and they turned me away, so it is tough to find support for this, and I got the site about a year ago but the guy no longer owns the website, he sold it, hope someone could give me some help.

This MOD requires that you choose an auth code that users will have to enter during registration.
This code should be a string of numbers, letters and/or symbols. Valid examples would be:
'y5i4b3m', '1739575', 'eyrmoskd', '!@#$%^&', '1a!2b@', etc.

Remember that you will have to display this code somewhere for users to find and be able to
explain where it is located on the registration page. Instead of using a random string, you can
use "The first two words in the description of the first forum on the index page" or "The first
two words in this board's description (under the title in the header)" or something similar.
Here is an example: http://www.marshalrusty.com/phpBB/spam/description.gif

If you wish to make it even simpler, you may change the $lang['rac_location'] (below) to a question,
such as "How many fingers do people have?" or "What color is the sky?" and make the RAC code the answer.
Here is an example of how this would look: http://www.marshalrusty.com/phpBB/spam/question.gif

If after some time you notice an increase in the number of spam registrations, bots may have been
adapted to the system. Simple change the auth code and/or its location to throw them off again.

Please note the messages after the word "Hint:" in the instructions below; they contain further
instructions.

you shouldn't use this mod. The best thing would be to get a normal spam protection mod (of which there are a lot), or to upgrade to phpBB3. And you're not using php2, but phpBB2 which also isn't supported anymore, but you can upgrade that to phpBB3 if you didn't install any mods before.

If you installed mods before, the best would be to find a normal spam protection mod (search the phpbb forums for that).
If you never modified any code (only settings) you should upgrade to phpBB3, which has spam protection and a lot of other new things pre-installed.

well my site is vital-gaming.org/coh i own the hole vital-gaming.org thing i just use it for friends and peoples websites, but as for mine, the site layout is based around phpbb2 for like the forums, and the company that made it, went out of business, so i am stuck with phpbb2 i can not convert to 3 unless i wan't to tank a hole lot into another company converting the forum layout. so, that is the issue I am having with that. and i know its phpbb2 sorry if i said php2, but as for this, I was told in the past its one of the best anti-spam preventions by several people, but its missing info in the install, for the upgrade to v0.0.2 from 0.0.1 lol, so not very well written ><
