The Baseballl Trade Deadline was on Friday.
I'm surprised not many players moved teams. I especially thought that star pitcher Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays would be traded.
Jake Peavy went from the San Diego Padres to the Chicago White Sox.
Victor Martinez was traded from the Cleveland Indians to the Boston Red Sox.
Scott Rollen was traded from the Toronto Blue Jays up the the Cincinnati Reds.
The Cleveland Indians traded their star pitcher Cliff Lee to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Jarrod Washburn went from the Seattle Mariners to the Detriot Tigers.
Orlando Cabrera was dealt from Oakland Athletics to the Minnesota Twins.
---
Were there any more significant trades that I missed?
I found this interesting article while searching for what trades happened at the deadline.
It's a ESPN list of the worst trades at the deadline.

I can't believe the Padres traded Peavy. They should just trade Adrian Gonzalez and then they will officially have no one on their team of a caliber higher than minor league.
I understand you want to dump salary and pick up prospects, but it seems like the new Padres GM only cares about saving money and nothing about building a team that is capable of winning games. They were just in the playoffs 2 years ago!

Well, the Padres' owner has been involved in a nasty divorce and I think that has affected the payroll quite a bit. See this article. The future does look kind of bleak for Padres fans, but its not as if they got nothing in return. The Padres recognize that they are in rebuilding mode. This has to happen every now and then unless you're the Yankees and can afford the top free agents every year. Not only that, but Peavy is good, but I don't think he was even the best pitcher in the NL West. I'd probably rank him behind Lincecum, Kershaw and Haren for sure, and possibly Billingsley and Cain—let alone how well the Rockies pitching is doing this year. (And this is all without really considering the injury to Peavy). Will he help the White Sox? Yes. Will the trade actually hurt the Padres? Doubtful. What could he really do for them? I don't think even with a healthy Peavy the Padres would even be sniffing the playoffs this season.
Full Disclosure: I'm a big Dodgers fan...
The White Sox just got a whole lot better. First Peavy, and now they've picked up Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Alex Rios off waivers... and yet they don't have the record to show it considering that they are only a couple games out of first in the American League Central and yet are barely above 500% winning percentage!? Go fig.
Yeah, I think they did. However, the White Sox still have Ozzie Guillen as their manager, so I expect that they still will be an incredibly unpredictable team.
I wouldn't expect Peavy to help them this year, though Alex Rios is real good for them. One of the only reasonable salaries that JP Riccardi signed for the Blue Jays and he just let him go.
No way they catch the Tigers this year. They're finally playing a little closer to last season's expectations and Washburn's career year is certainly going to help out. Wouldn't be surprised to see him not do so well next season, however. There is no way he can maintain that level of production given his history.
I think you are right about the Chicago White Sox. They just traded Jim Thome to the Los Angeles Dodgers and José Contreras to the Colorado Rockies. They aren't going to make it in the Central.
I do think that the Minnesota Twins will surpass the Detriot Tigers though for the Central Division title.

A month later, everyone is saying that the Cardinals made the biggest splash by picking up Matt Holliday. I think I agree. They have been on a tear lately.
Anyone think that Pujols juices/juiced in the past?
Pujols? No, he doesn't juice. He's just good.
Matt Holliday is okay, with him, their outfield is almost as good as the Dodgers'
