windows 2003 server compress folder does not show free space

kv
I have a windows 2003 server, which has several databases. When the disk was near full, I compressed few oradata folders using windows compression. Now it shows "size on disk" as a lot lesser than the actual size, but free space on the disk has not increased. Any idea why?

EDIT: Got the answer. You need to reboot the system for free disk space update.
