So when is the right time to buy a domain (for a personal site)? As in depending on your site's status. Will it be worth it if you just have a few visitors, or what is the right amount of traffic for it to be practical to buy a domain name?

I've brought a few domains for my clients but never for myself - actually I've wanted to get a domain for a while now but haven't really bothered. The frih.net subdomain works well with my personal blog, which gets about 20 unique visitors a day but mostly friends/family. I'd say there's really no "right" time to buy a domain. When you feel like it - get it.
