How to price advertising on my site

gorilla5
For my site Fashion Style Blog I've been getting a lot of visitors and increased my ranking for quite a few main words lately. I've been increasingly been solicited by some major sites to advertise on my site.

How do I determine what to charge them?

Never thought of advertising before and also don't like ad sense, makes the site look cheap. But it would be nice to get an extra few bucks a month.[/url]

Here's what I would do....

1. Get people advertising for just maybe $2-3 a month.

2. Let people know that you will be opening up the advertising in 3 month intervals.

3. Every 3 months open the bidding up again.

Right now, I think it's more important just to get people paying you more than worrying about what to charge. Your time/labor is a sunk cost anyway, so anything above free is cash-money.

$2-$3???

Wow, that's not even worth my time putting it up. Others charge $100's and even $1,000's. I have a niche set of visitors coming in so I don't think it's the same as normal sites.

Unless you got thousands of visitors every day, I think $2 or $3 is reasonable to start with, Let the people who want to advertise on your site decide what the price is... If they don't want to offer more than $2 - $3 than you have to live with that... If they want to give more than that's only better for you. Wink

The point isn't to neccessarly make money, it's just to get started work out the bugs and let people see the ROI on your site. The next three months you might be able to charge $50-100 or whatever you think is fair.

You have approximately 100 unique visitors per day and its quality traffic so I think $2-$5 for a month is ok.
I have 250 visitors per day (not so quality) and will sell ad spot for $3 for a month happily.

If You want to know value of Your ad spot I recommend put one of projectwonderful.com ads on Your site and let people to bid on it daily .

For that price you mean that you give them a full banner ad for all pages at all time for $5 a month? Or is it rotating and text link or something else?
