I think the major league All Star game is a big joke. They say "this time it counts" because the winning division gets home field advantage in the World Series, but I don't buy it. First off, the NL never wins anymore. Second, chances are the teams that make it to the WS probably had nothing to do with who won or lost the game. Does that make any sense? And don't even get me started on the home run derby. Past 5 winners since 2006 -- all suspected of steroids!
