I have been meaning to check these guys out since I shot the singer for the cover of Rip It Up at the beginning of the year. The last gig I was at and ready to shoot was the fiasco that was Live At The Zoo. The band was on stage, I had just taken a publicity shot and then the event organiser casually announced that they would not be playing!
Fastforward to tonight at Fowlers and I got my first taste of The Vampirates. Damn fine stuff indeed. True to form, Fowlers dished up woeful lighting that left me with a lot of work ahead to bring these images into something worthy. I thought with the temporary closure of the venue earlier this year the return would include better stage lights?
It didn't.
