Best chat for a website?

Hello everyone,
I work in a website where a live chat would be incredibly useful, now, I want to embed it and have it look ok with the design, so it must be skinnable, also Flash based.
I am looking for something either hosted in a central server or in my server, free if possible, and with the least amount of ads,

I've tried searching for one but the choice is too big and I was hoping someone here might know of a good solution for this,

Well I thought of course about doing it myself in AJAX, and have the script poll the server every 5 seconds or so, but don't you think that would take too many resources on the server?

I will start a new thread in the javascript category to discuss the best approach for this,

if you want a simple ajax chat you could try mibbit:

You won't have much control of the looks, but you can use irc and put a bot in the channel for example. If you want help with irc you can try joining the frihost irc channel. I could also show you what a bot could do in there.

You can also use a java client for irc. That client is easy to modify, but .. well it's java.

Thank you rvec and asap170, those are the thing I actually wanted, but I will develop one myself, I just need a simple chat, and I want it perfectly integrated with the design, so it will be much easier and faster I think,
