I don't understand your question right but CSS haven't div tags. HTML have div tags and CSS just styling it. For each div you can set id or class (or both in some situation). Id is something like div name and, if you want valid CSS, you can use only one time on one html page. Class is definiton what you can use on divs (and other tags, too) multiple times on same html page. Here is one good tutorial for beginers:

When I am trying to get a good idea of what different tags do, I usually go to the w3schools. That is usually a good place to go.
