There may be no other concept that captures the imagination more than the idea of time travel -- the ability to travel to any point in the past or future. What could be cooler? You could jump into your time machine to go back and see major events in history and talk to the people who were there! Who would you travel back to see? Julius Caesar? Leonardo da Vinci? Elvis? You could go back and meet yourself at an earlier age, go forward and see how you look in the future... It's these possibilities that have made time travel the subject of so many science fiction books and movies.
It turns out that, in some sense, we are all time travelers. As you sit at your desk, doing nothing more than clicking your mouse, time is traveling around you. The future is constantly being transformed into the past with the present only lasting for a fleeting moment. Everything that you are doing right now is quickly moving into the past, which means we continue to move through time.
Ideas of time travel have existed for centuries, but when Albert Einstein released his theory of special relativity, he laid the foundation for the theoretical possibility of time travel. As we all know, no one has successfully demonstrated time travel, but no one has been able to rule it out either.

Actually, it has been proven possible in multiple ways... that we can't come anywhere near achieving with our current technology.
There is, of course, travel into the future, which you can change the rate of through relativity.
Going to the past would require a wormhole. There are two ways to make a wormhole that have been 'proven' (mathematically) possible, in accordance with current theories of physics:
1: Big, tubular, black hole rotating very fast.
2: 'Exotic matter' (which could physically exist, but has never been found yet, not even in the smallest quantities).
If I remember correctly, there was another topic by this name earlier... Wonder what happened to that.
IMO
Time travel to the past : impossible
Time travel to future: Seems possible, but you cant go back. Do u guys know Twin Paradox? yep. Thats might be the answer
here an article about Twin Paradox http://mentock.home.mindspring.com/twins.htm
I think it is not possible. It is weird to think, that you can go future and take a look of you in future. Or you change events in past...

time travel is possible in fact we u know very less about science there are many things which yet to discovered so time travel is possible i m sure but this things will be not the same as we think we may interfear or confuse things i mean then we will be in 4th dimension world i.e. the extra dimension will be of time so this is not possible because now we don't have any technology to acclerate ourselfs to the speed of live
In my opinion travelling to the future might be possible, but I doubt you can travel into the past.
it would be cool but i don't think it's possible though.
I've thought about this WAY too much, and acceleration to the future is possible because time is relative to speed, so provided you could accelerate yourself fast enough, you could travel to the future. But there's no way you're coming back.
But man, I would love the power of time travel! The things you could see, do and learn!! Ack! Good times...

Agreed. I remember with that show quite a number of years ago: A Dream is Alive, in the Smithsonian with its multi-dimensional surround sound, I saw it a number of times. Imagine going even faster than that, but without the encumbrances of limitations, has to be awesome. I would love to go to all the planets, and especially Mars. Wonder whether we would ever be able to reach that level of technology.
I traveled to the future.
from 2000 working in a dead beat company, I realized now, that I reached 2009.
j/k
i reckon it is impossible as if we could some one from the future would have come back already. why wouldn't someone come back with the time machine from the future? Maybe there is know future as lots of people believe in the end of the world in 2012.

Maybe that's what UFO's are...
Going to the past and talking and chatting with the good old people may not be possible. But at least it is possible to view what happened in past. There are two ways- you travell faster than light and catch the old lights that are roaming in the universe. This is impossible. Another, you make a "shortcut hole"(i don't know what they call it but i watched it in national geographic) and go faster than light in a straight path(light travel in a curve like manner in space?).
I travel through time every day – spending day in a modern company, feeling as a part of a future, and than going out through “time gates”, back at least 10 years ago…
Now for serious… It would be great if you could go back in time (but with the thing you’ve learned until now) and change some things that you would like to be different… But, then… Maybe it wouldn’t be great at all… I don’t know, maybe thing happens with some cause and we should just let them stay where they belong – in past.
I think time travel may be possible in some day. .
If we could move frequently in near velocity of light, it is possible in some extent.
I would rather travel to distant galaxies with said wormholes and explore the universe than travel through earthly time visiting future and past areas.
