How to make animated presentations on linux?

Can we make animated presentations on linux. Can you please tell how good/bad it is compared to power point presentation?

Yes, you can use the OpenOffice.org software available from http://www.openoffice.org/
It works almost the same as powerpoint, but it's able to open a lot of file formats that powerpoint can't open.

I have not used OpenOffice presentation application but I think it will have all the support of animating a presentation so give it a try. The new version 3 is out now.
