Triathlon Training

My wife and I are competing in 2 triathlons this summer and are struggling to find adequate time to train. Between working and keeping our home, we have very little time to commit to this but are tired of putting it off. When I used the word compete, it may have given the wrong impression. Our goal is to complete the events successfully. Ideally in our second attempt we would like to improve on our times.

Does anyone have advise on good training plans and tips on fitting this into a busy lifestyle? How do you know if you have trained enough? The event is only a sprint triathlon so the distances are not too far.

Thanks for any tips you have to pass along!

What is a sprint triathelon? I have heard of 70.3 races. That's half an ironman.
1.2 mi. swim, 56 mi. bike and 13.1 mi. run.

There is some training advise there.
