I was talking to my roommate yesterday about how much media attention Phil Mickelson is getting because of his wife has cancer. Personally, it seems a little bit ridiculous because the media portrays this like no one else has ever been affected by cancer.
Not to get into my life too much, but 8 of my relatives and my father have died of cancer. I know how horrible a disease it is and I am certainly happy to hear that Phil's wife is fighting it off well. But I wish the media would take a step back and understand that countless people are affected by cancer. I do feel bad for Phil's wife but I just think the media has gone overboard with this story. Excuse me if I really don't care anymore.
Thoughts?
