Best open source CMS for blogs ?

None of the above. :p The CMS that I like most is Nucleus. At first I only went with it because it supported multiple authors, but I soon found out you can do so much more with it. Changing the layout is pretty easy if you have some basic html and css experience. There are also tons of add-ons and downloadable skins.
WordPress is fully customizable and also can act as a really CMS, rather than simply a weblog engine.
Textpattern too but is a bit more complicated for newbies.

i've been using this for a while now, it's reliable, easy to use, and the best thing is that there are lotsa plugins that can be easily installed.
