It was obviously a stunt and MS was a guest on the show so they wanted to put a dramatic touch to his arrival and since MS has designed the FXX, he was the only one Ferrari would have allowed to drive it. So TopGear decided to make it funnier and make it more dramatic. The real identity of The Stig is still not known and I don't think it will be. This is because The Stig can not be associated with a real person, that will kill the legend and make it just another racing driver. Of course we know he is a racing driver, he is quick too, but the mystery makes it the legend and if the mystery is taken away, the legend will be killed and BBC will never let that happen.
