I'm using a wireless network with the exact products "Linksys WAP11 Wireless-B Network Access Point" and 2 "Linksys WPC11 Wireless-B Notebook Adapter" wireless cards. Originally, when I set up the network, the access point simply would not assign an IP adress to the laptops using the wireless cards, despite the fact that the wireless cards were all but specifically designed for that router and one came with it
I upgraded the firmware on the router, and now it will assign an IP adress - but only when I manually right-click on the wireless network icon in the taskbar and click Repair. It will not assign an IP adress when the computer starts up or comes out of sleep mode, even though the computer is configured to automatically connect to my network. Does anyone know why this is happening, or how to fix it?
problem with wireless network
I have no idea what is wrong, I just wanted to tell you that one of my friends had trouble with linksys, too. His problem was kinda like yours, and he had people from his ISP come to see what was wrong.
That all I can tell you,
.
That all I can tell you,
That can be problem with Windows (often case).
But also with firmware, anyway you should use static IP addresses.
Or start DHCP server for automatic ip addresses on Unix/Windows 2003.

My friend has a Netgear wireless router and that won't work.
It fails to IP from ISP
It fails to IP from ISP
Two solutions:
1. Enable DHCP (in services)
2. Manually assign the IP addresses in your laptops wireless config. (Internet Protocol) in advanced options.
