I want to learn the piano but I dont have space for one at the mo, So I was thinking of getting a keyboard untill I have the money / space for a large piano.
I was browsing on Amazon, and the majority of keyboards only have 61 keys, but I know that most piano's have 88, Will that make a difference or not?
thanks.
I have an keyboard with 5 octaves (the normal keyboard). At the beginning, I could play the piano pieces, but as far as you advance on your piano studies, you need more "notes", because some sheet music have some "grave" and "higher" notes, did you understand?
Furthermore, the sensation of playing a piano and playing a keyboard is completelly different because of keys sensitivity.
Generally, the piano keys are tougher than those of the keyboard. Oh, and I think it is more "difficult" to play a piano seriously, but frankly it is much more complete and beautiful ... As my piano teacher said (introduction), who plays piano, plays all instruments of keys.
Ok...
BTW, you are doing well in learning to play the piano. It is really good ...
