I <3 it. It's sorta hard to find good trance/techno songs. Can anybody recommend any? Very Happy

What kinda Trance do you like? The Markus Schulz kind or the Above and Beyond kind? Can also be another kind o'course. I got about 1000 songs in my iTunes with the dance genres, so it can't be that hard to recommend you some. Razz

I like trance and techno too, but there are so many numbers, which genre do you prefer?

Everybody knows Tisto, so it wouldn't be helpful to post him here for the trance lovers. I'm Dutch, so I'm constantly bombarded with his stuff and that also makes me not wanna post things about him. Razz
(His best song is "Suburban train" btw)

Kraftwerk is awesome. What you got to watch is "Kraftwerk and the Electronic Revolution" to extend your electro horizons.

Trance genre?! There's a genre in a genre lol sorry I have no clue but i've been listening to these few songs:

Bass is kicking - DJ Splash
The Return - DJ Coone
Sarina Paris - Look At Us Now Baby
DJ Photik - Wherever You Are
+ More
I dunno somewhere along the lines of those. I'm still a newbie in trance/techno genre more of a punk/pop/rock type. Always nice to try different music genres

Thanks for replying!

I like to listen to trance on Shoutcast a lot--it's good background music for when I'm working.

is the rave thing still popular?

You mean that mid 90's dance? Nope, not that I know. A few years ago there was something like that though. It was called Jumpstyle, but luckely it only survived about ten months before dying out totally. Very Happy

Now it's mostly trance if I look at the best rated DJ's at the moment (according to the voted standings of DJ Magazine of 2008):
1. Armin van Buuren (trance)
2. Tisto (trance)
3. Paul van Dyk (house/trance)
4. Above & Beyond (trance)
5. David Guetta (house)
6. Ferry Corsten (techno/trance)
7. Sasha (house)
8. Markus Schulz (trance)
9. John Digweed (trance)
10.Infected Mushroom (house?)

@denice123: I'm looking forward to it. He's without doubt one of the best American DJ's, and one of the best remixers around globally.

Ichh...trance. Broken hard drive noises sequenced into a 20-minute-long track. Ichh. I am NOT a fan.

However, Basshunter keeps me amused for a LONG time. I guess I prefer melodic tracks. Trance seems to be the same 5-second sample looping for wayy too long in too many instances for my taste.

Is there a more appropriate name for Basshunter than Techno? Is it closer to the Dance genre?
traxion
for trance dance.. there are some good online radio stations

xfm.nl ( dutch site ) is 100% dance/trance

if you like it a bit harder there is FearFM with jump ( hard steam ) hardstyle ( harder steam) and hardcore (hardest steam )
bibol
For me the best songs are produced by Armin van Buuren.
