WolframAlpha VS. Google
It looks really impressive but I think that Google will develop new features when they are getting jealous at them 
eagerly waiting for wolfram 
Seems like they were successful in making the hype... I don't expect that it will be extremely more useful than other search engines though.

Personally, I think it'll take a lot to beat Google... and it doesn't trip of the tongue quite so well... I'm quite happy to "Google" something... but to "WolframAlpha" it doesn't sound quite as good !!

I just tried it out and it was interesting for some classes of searches specially those that they have listed in the try it out column. For other types of knowledge questions, it did not perform well. So it seems that it is not a very generalized system an needs optimization for different categories.
I think it's absolutely pointless to compare the two, Alpha is not really a search engine, it's more of an intelligent encyclopaedia.
