background images in CSS

Does anyone know if I can have two backgrund images for one table cell in one class. Let's say I have image a & image b. I'm looking for somthing like this:

Image a
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b
Image b

B would repeat for y.

Actually i'm not going to use two background images anymore. Thanks anyway.

FYI, it's possible with CSS3

I would try to do things simply. For the table cell but image b as the background image and then to get image a in there create a new div and place it at the top of the cell, make its background image image a, make sure it doesnt repeat and your done. If you have content in the div and its large you may need to make the div's background colour transparent.
