trouble with firefox

Hello,
I am using a linux machine (ubuntu 8.10). FIrefox is not working properly. It does not remmeber history. I cant use the backward button, forward button and even the reload button does not work. I dont understand the problem. Can you fix it?

Doing this is barely ever needed for linux programs, unless you go in on the command line with sudo and muck up the install on purpose. The installed files are nearly never changed on linux, except when an update is installed.

Instead, delete your user's Firefox settings by removing the ~/.mozilla folder. In Ubuntu, click Places -> Home. In the File Browser, click View -> Show Hidden Files. Then find the ".mozilla" folder, and delete it (or alternatively, move it somewhere else temporarily). Then start up Firefox and see if it works correctly (a new .mozilla folder will be generated automatically when you start FF).
