More hypocrisy from the Democrats

Voodoocat
The Democratic party, headed by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have villified and condemned President Bush for torturing terrorists by waterboarding. Additionally, Spain has initiated criminal charges against six Bush appointees. Spain should add one more: Pelosi herself!

What! Why should Pelosi be indicted by Spain? Certainly she has no involvment, after all, she has been loudly condemning President Bush for the last year. Unbelievably, in spite of her loud braying condemning waterboarding, she was one of the commitee members that approved waterboarding in 2002! Yep, you read it right: Pelosi, one of the very loud and outspoken leaders of the Democratic party, actually APPROVED WATERBOARDING then has the gall to heap calumny on the Bush Administration for using her approved method of interrogation.

Is there a Democrat out there that does not speak with a forked tongue?

Here are the links:

Which is why big government is a bad thing.

1.Politicians are corrupt
2.Big Government is run by many politicians
3.I bet you can guess where this is going.

How is it possible for the courts in Spain to charge high-ranking officials from the United States? I checked up on news articles looking for acts that have been committed against the Spanish Government by the alleged criminals, but could not find any. They are actually wanting to charge them for their alleged participation in GITMO:

Another example of absurd Government hypocrisy. Torturing Basque freedom fighters in Spanish prisons, but charging high-ranking American officials for allegedly participation in torturing of GITMO prisoners in the United States? The arrogance is indescribable.

Perhaps the Government in Spain needs to clean up their own backyard first before pointing fingers as far away as the other side of the Atlantic Ocean:

Nice bit of blame-shifting there, but I have to disagree.

Just because the accused is less guilty than the accuser doesn't mean that the accused is innocent.

I don't think that was the point of this thread.

No, it wasn't the point of the thread. It was, however, related to the point of the thread, which is plenty for just one post.

Perhaps my point was obscured to the extent that it became misleading. My point is the arrogance of Spain seriously wishing to prosecute senior officials in the United States. Surely the right course of action would be a complaint to an impartial international body such as the UN, or International Courts in Brussels or Amnesty International, etc. etc. Not only was it arrogant for me, but I was wondering at the political mileage that Spain was trying to get out of it and whether it was trying to downplay its own much worse acts against Basque terrorists. The latter not being the important point, but obviously Spain is not qualified to go around to other countries and prosecute their leaders. There are countries who do qualify, but by reason of their qualifications they would be the very countries who would refrain from meddling directly in the domestic affairs of another country, and would prefer to do it the right way, i.e. submit a formal complaint to the appropriate international body.
