Blog in joomla?

gueda
I tested some extensions but no one works. Ya, works, but have bugs or i don't like. I see one "myjspace" but I install and don't work.

Anyone have one blog extension or a good tutorial explaining how to install or make a blog in joomla?
I tested almost all extensions here: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/content-&-news/blog

One very good extension is wordpress integration, but is expensive Shocked
My joomla version is 1.5.9

thanks for all help

I tried doing that a while ago but eventually found out that Joomla isn't meant to be used as a blog, unless of course you buy those commercial extensions, or you hack it hugely. I would recommend you use Wordpress, which is what I'm using now as a blog.

why don't you try the in built blog module "Archived content" in the module manager and use the Archived articles which will used as a blog. The JCE editor gives good flexibility of decorating the text.

I'm trying to create a blog in Joomla.
Since its content based, why can't the content be a blog (of sorts).
Maybe its not as fancy as wordpress, but I think it can work.

Anyways, I'm trying to do it, and if I succeed, I'll let you'll in on it Wink

I don't think you understand what the difference is between a content management system like joomla and a blog like wordpress. If you want a blog only you should choose wordpress, if you want more you need joomla.

Trying to use joomla for a blog only and removing all other stuff is like using phpBB for a blog and just use one thread.

that is one of those things I don't understand... why do people want to ADAPT tools when the have a perfect tool to do the job?

Joomla has a blogging add-on component. But I am not sure whether it is still free. What the componenent does is to add a facility for giving blogs to the members of one's Joomla site.
