Do these houses have residents? Or are these just ancestral homes? I've only been to Baoding & Beijing and I haven't seen houses that look like those you have posted, not to mention the red lamps (?).
Makes me want to go back there. Every now and then I want to be alienated for the hell of it.

Agreed the pictures are quite spectacular. I've only been to Ghangzou so far, would like to get to Shanghai and Beijing if I can one day.Looks like a place filled with the rich Chinese culture. I'd enjoy visiting such a place... thanks for the pictures!
