Here's the lizard I saw yesterday, a skink.
There are about four different species of lizard where I am now, and of that 4, this is the 2nd rarest.
This one is around five inches long; the biggest one I've ever seen:

Because of its sleek, smooth, shiny scales, this is my favorite kind of lizard.
(And I'm glad my camera still works: it was badly damaged when I rolled my jeep, but since it was made of good metal, I was able to take it apart, bend the pieces back into shape, put it back together, and use it!)
