make game for cell phone (text based)

Hi looked on forum and google

would like to make game for cell phone (text based)

the pages will only display text then click keypad to go on next page of text and so on

color backgrounds, colored text

quite basic

any ideas for easy software or languages

shall i use C/C+ or Java

any help would be great

It will be a standalone game on the cellphone

I believe Java is the most used coding language on cell phones today, they can be pretty powerful games. Give it a shot, and good luck. Smile

I believe NetBeans is a free program that you can code many different languages into. I tried it once, although all I used it for was PHP.

Mh, i was once going to try to develop a game for a phone as well, and found that alot of phones these days support java. Though i didnt know java , i still could have started to learn quite easily since i know C# which is quite similar.

java should be the preferred world here since almost all phones support java. good luck and do let us know when u r done with it

Java, to be more precise Micro Edition. However you could use C++ for the more advanced phones running the symbian OS.

*EDIT*

Or you could simply use Game Editor ( A simple game engine like game maker ) but unfortunately it is very limited.
