Paid hosting?

Im not sure if this has been mentioned before but maybe you guys should offer a paid hosting service along with the free one. The paid one could have beefed up stats - more space, bandwidth, etc. What do you guys think Question

It's definately something to think of. But in my country there are a lot of taxes and to start a business (needed to charge for hosting) would cost more than what the revenue would be.

cant' someone just buy some pc's with some massive internet connection and make server from them?

I think atleast a PayPal Donation Button can be added? In case if someone feels like helping frihost. No negatives I guess.

Yeah, donations would be a good idea also. My old host 3rror had that.

This has been suggested alot of times...and it was a no everytime, as Bondings is too lazy to pay taxes.. Wink. He just prefers ADs as his income, lol.

A paypal button would be nice.

Maybe a "Donate to me" and get your own rank ?

Just think of this. I someone donates and then Bondings find some thing illegal on his site. Then what ????

I think we really need a tax accountant to sort out this issue. I' really prefer to have the option of paid hosting.

Can the Tax Man do anything if the servers are phisically in a tax heaven? What about all those gambling and porno operations running from the caribean, etc?

What Country are you in?
If you are in the United States, you can do a self proprietorship..(d/b/a -- about $15-$25) you do that with the county clerk and registering for taxes isnt that big of a deal, what you would need to do is register whats called a tax id number(TIN) with the state(free)..on the most part of everything where i have done business(NJ and NY) all it is, is your social security number...and the only time you are actually required to charge tax to a person, is if that person resides in the same state where your business is registered.
Then again this is only for the United States.
But if you would want to incorporate then that is what really costs money...honestly if you are running a server...i really dont feel that it is really necessary to go beyond a self proprietorship or partnership...if you were doing other things, then i would say definately atleast LLC.

gmcclure, thanks for the suggestions, but I live in Belgium. There is no easy way for me to do these things. Paid hosting would also mean that I have to spend even more time on this, time I don't have.

If there was a beefed up hosting with a lot of stats, I think that would drive the people away who didn't want to be pushed into buying more stuff. And I think the free hosting service would fall, as they try to make the paid service better.

Okay. This won't happen. So lets lock it and add a new rule.
