Does it mean that the PDF is password-protected? If it is, I don't think you can convert it (assuming you don't know the password).

Yeah I think he means password-protected and, you are right if you don't have the password then you can't open it and I don't think you can convert it.

Probably he means password-protected, in that away you "can't" extract nothing from the PDF.
I shouldn't say this, but it's easier than you think Razz If he wants to extract the contents from a password-protected PDF, a simple google search will solve the problem Wink

PDF2Word enables you to export the text, images and other contents from PDF documents into Word DOC format, so you can reuse your PDF content. The application will preserve text, layout and bitmap images in the generated Word document. PDF2Word is a stand-alone program and it does not require Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or even Acrobat Reader.

I have successfully converted a secure pdf file to an unsecured file using http://www.pdfonline.com/. Just upload your secured pdf file and download the unsecured version. Secured pdf files are the ones that are locked so you can't do things like printing. I wanted to print a secured pdf file a few weeks ago and used the link above. Worked like a charm.

Of course you know that Acrobat Professional does that, right? If you don't want to purchase it and only want to do it for a few docs, you could download a trial version for the docs that can't be converted using the links above.

There are so many PDF to Word Converter on the market and from my long time experience of testing on them, I found Nemo PDF to Word Converter is a really superior one in that it can greatly preserve the original layout and all elements and supports convert password protected PDF files.
Besides, batch conversion and fast rate are pretty helpful when I have a lot of files need to be converted.

After you edit it, you can use an office add-on SaveAsPDF to save word as PDF format if necessary.

Believe me, most of the PDF converters mentioned above can not support protected PDF conversion.

In fact, I do know a PDF to Word Converter called AnyBizSoft can convert protected PDF to Word. The restriction of copying or printing will be removed after conversion. And all the original formats can be well retained. Here is the Link:
http://www.anypdftools.com/pdf-to-word.html#163

or if you have a PDF Password Remover or something, remove the restriction first, then copy and paste to Word document. That will be another solution.
